The Royal Government of Bhutan sets minimum selling prices for packages to Bhutan and this must be paid in US dollars prior to arrival in Bhutan.

Visa Formalities

Other than Indian, Bangladeshis and Maldivian nationals, all visitors to Bhutan require a visa; all visas are issued from Thimphu; visas are only issued to tourists booked with a local licensed tour operator, directly or through a foreign travel agent. Your local tour agency will apply for your Visa on-line. For your Visa to be processed, you must send a color copy (.jpeg) of the first page of your passport and also full tour payment must be made. It can take up-to 10 days to secure your visa on-line. Once your Visa is secured and e-mailed to you, you must carry a print out to show at the Druk Air counter (at the city of departure) and at Paro immigration.
